Job Title: Head of Marketing
Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent
We are seeking a visionary Head of Marketing to lead brand and growth strategy across TMG’s portfolio of global festivals. This is a senior leadership position that sits at the intersection of music, culture, and business. You will be responsible for setting the long-term vision, driving innovative marketing execution, and building a globally resonant presence for our festivals, from Portugal to London to Ghana and beyond.
You’ll report directly to the Chief Commercial Officer and the leadership team and oversee a multidisciplinary global marketing function. The ideal candidate is in equal parts creative strategist, business operator, and cultural architect.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute the long-term marketing vision across Afro Nation Portugal and TMG’s brand portfolio
- Translate brand strategy into data-driven, culturally rich multi-channel marketing campaigns
- Lead go-to-market strategy for new launches and geographic expansion
Growth & Innovation
- Identify new revenue and audience growth opportunities through new projects, digital innovation, and platform integrations
- Evolve our marketing stack to include predictive analytics and AI-driven insights
Budget & Performance
- Own the global festival marketing budget; forecast, manage, and optimise for ROI
- Define and track KPIs across ticket sales, campaign effectiveness, brand equity, and sponsor impact
Team Leadership & Culture
- Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of 5 across creative, digital, PR, paid media, and CRM (3 direct reports)
- Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and curiosity
- Manage external agencies, freelance talents, and media partners globally

Strategic Planning and Marketing
- Developing and executing marketing plans, including brand strategy, market research, and competitive analysis.
Digital Marketing
- Proficiency in various digital channels, including social media, SEO, email marketing, and online advertising.
Event Planning and Management
- Experience in planning and executing events, including budgeting, logistics, vendor management, and attendee engagement.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication, active listening, and the ability to build rapport with stakeholders, including sponsors, vendors, and attendees.
Leadership and Team Management
- The ability to lead, coach and motivate a team, delegate tasks effectively, and foster a collaborative environment.
Financial Management
- Budgeting, cost analysis, ROI tracking, and financial reporting for marketing campaigns.
Analytical Skills
- Analysing marketing data, identifying trends, and making data-driven decisions.
- Problem-Solving and Decision-Making:
- The ability to identify and resolve issues, adapt to changing circumstances, and make timely decisions.
Creativity and Innovation
- Generating innovative marketing ideas and campaigns that stand out and attract attention.
Organisational Skills
- Time management, prioritisation, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in using marketing software, tools, and technology.
Candidate Requirements:
Essential Experience
- 10+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience in live entertainment, music, media, or global brand
- Demonstrated success leading large-scale, multi-market campaigns
- Experience being hands-on managing a team, spotting upskilling and training opportunities, providing mentorship and coaching to ensure success and growth for direct reports
- Deep fluency in youth culture, music trends, and the global Black diaspora
- Expertise in digital performance marketing, brand storytelling, and CRM/loyalty strategy
- High comfort level presenting to C-suite and cross-functional stakeholders
- A track record of operating calmly in high-stakes, fast-moving environments
- A commercial mindset with primary focus on driving ticket sales
Bonus Points
- Experience with major festivals, touring, or international event marketing
- Network across music management, talent agencies, and brand sponsors
- Familiarity with global festival markets, particularly Africa, Europe, and North America
- Second language
